A showreel is the first impression most casting directors and producers will ever have of you. It needs to move fast, sound flawless, and land the right voice in the right hands within seconds.
We've produced more than 400 showreels since we opened our doors, and we create over 30 more every year. That's a lot of practice at knowing exactly what makes a reel work.

Most of the work we produce sits across advertising, corporate, e-learning and internal comms, and that's usually what your reel needs to show.

HOW IT WORKS
We start with a conversation about where you are in your career and where you want your reel to take you next. We talk through your existing material, the genres you want to be cast for, and any scripts or clips you already have in mind.
From there we source or write short scripts to suit, book your session in our Edinburgh studio (or remotely via Source Connect), and direct the reads to get the best out of every line. Once we're happy with the takes, we edit, sequence, and master the reel so it's ready to send straight to agents, casting directors, or your own site.
Already have material recorded elsewhere? We can also edit and master existing recordings into a polished reel without a live studio session.

The session is usually around an hour. Most reels are recorded, edited and mastered within a week of your session.

Yes. We supply scripts to suit the genres you want to target, or work from material you already have.

It depends on the genre, but most commercial reel montages run 60 to 90 seconds, with corporate, character and audiobook reels running slightly longer to show range. We also supply you with the full-length versions too.

Yes. We can add new clips, re-sequence existing material, or remaster older recordings without a full studio session. Get in touch to find out more.

Yes, via Source Connect, Zoom or MS Teams if you're not able to get to the Edinburgh studio. But it’s a better experience for everyone if you come to us.

Not directly. Spotlight requires all material to be entirely copyright free, and the scripts and source material we use for reel production are not. If you need a Spotlight-compliant reel, let us know when you book and we can talk through what's involved in producing one to their requirements.
